Taiwan Health Industry Delegation Visits Singapore for Business Matching, Aiming to Accelerate Global Expansion

(CNA Correspondent Wu Sheng-Hong, Singapore, Sept. 22) A delegation of Taiwanese companies from the medical, healthcare, and wellness industries attended a business matching event in Singapore today. Delegation leader Lee Huei-Ling  noted that Singapore plays a key role in connecting Asia with the global market, making it an ideal platform for Taiwanese businesses to expand overseas. She expressed hope that the event would help accelerate the internationalization of Taiwan’s health industry.

The International Trade Administration of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) co-hosted the event, titled Exclusive Business Matching – Taiwan Advanced Health Industry, in Singapore. Liu Chien-Fei, Director of the Taiwan Trade Center in Singapore, attended along with numerous medical and healthcare industry representatives.

The Taiwanese delegation, comprising multiple institutions from the medical, healthcare, and wellness sectors, held exchanges with local companies this morning at the Hilton Singapore Orchard. In an interview with CNA, delegation leader and General Manager of Huede Healthtech Co., Ltd., Lee Huei-Ling, explained that the discussions highlighted smart healthcare and applications of artificial intelligence (AI). The participating companies cover a diverse range of fields, including OEM, ODM, medical consumables, and health supplements, showcasing the industry’s broad scope.

Lee emphasized that the exchanges went beyond clinical medicine to include home care and personal wellness, providing practical opportunities for cooperation between businesses from both sides.

She pointed out that Singapore serves as a strategic hub in Asia for connecting to the international market, enabling Taiwanese companies to expand further into Southeast Asia and beyond, such as Vietnam and Malaysia. With Singapore’s sound regulatory framework and favorable business environment, establishing a foothold there would further accelerate the global development of Taiwan’s health industry.

The atmosphere at the event was lively, with many international participants expressing strong interest in Taiwan’s health supplements, smart healthcare solutions, and health management programs. They noted that Taiwan’s research and manufacturing capabilities meet international standards and align with market demands in Singapore and beyond. Future collaborations are expected to yield more concrete results.
